I've always been interested in trading stocks, but never did it for lack of capital. I finally had some money to invest and was looking for a course in trading stocks at the local college, and they offered a class in forex. I never took the class but I researched forex and paper traded for a few months. Have been trading a live account for about a year.
The financial field always attracted me when I was in school. My cousin was a forex broker in '97 & tht too got me interested a lot.
Finally, a friend of mine working for a local brokerage firm called me up & introduced me to FX. The firm was anywayz, total BS. They offer leverage of 1:250, with per trade commission $120 & 8 point spread.
I got the message. From then on, just researched on the net as much as i can & still am on this amazing site.
I believe sharing knowledge improves everyones understanding of the subject. And that's what is right.
Right now, im just looking to settle with a good technical system to work with.

I still work full time and trade during the night, As I am in Australia this works well. I have 2 children 6 and 2 and look forward to giving them a better life.

Its nice to know there are others out there in my position. I have two kids, 1 1/2 and 5, and am trying forex trading to add to the income from my husband's job which is fairly meager (public school teacher). I was trying long-term trading so I would not have to be up at night ( in my time zone the best hours are 11pm-12noon). However this has recently resulted in large drawdowns so I am considering trying short-term trading this summer when I have daytime "relief" to sleep in. Have you been making a decent living at it? I found forex through my futures broker. I have been trading stocks, options, and futures for many years. All have spreads and all have commissions. With the forex market, there are spreads but no commissions. This was very appealling to me. Also, it is very active 24 hours/day. Futures are 24 hours/day but very thin during the night (US night).
