If Britian adopts EURO

What will happen to GBP if Britian considers adopting the EURO as its currency? What are its implications to GBP traders such as me? How likely will they adopt Euro and how soon do you think it will happen?

I think there will be referendum in the UK about this.

If they adopt euro then we will lose GBP pairs (as DEM, FRF and others before)

I hope they will stay out of eurozone as long as possible

IMHO there is now almost no chance that Britian will join the Euro any time soon (i.e. within the decade).

So no need to worry.

We are to get a referendum on the new constitution which we will vote against next year.
We have been promised a referendum on the Euro as well, but this looks at least 3-5 years away and the country is overwhelmingly against the Euro.

Britain will not join the Euro ever in my opinion, but worst case scenario (from my point of view), is that we would join in 10 - 12 years at the earliest.

I like EUR/GBP and GBP/USD, I fall into sadness only thinking they could vanish!

But this is very very difficult it will happen!
