Thumbs up Living and trading in Spain, high speed net out of the city?

I'm thinking of relocating to Spain just for banking and on line trading.

I'm not wanting to live in the expensive city, and being its a computer business all I need is a farm house in the country with good Internet.

Does any one live and trade in Spain perhaps let me know how the Internet works?

Obviously Spain is an advanced country, I'm asking about Rural Spain in the Spanish country side.

Are there any special considerations for trading currency as a foreigner in Spain that I should check out first?

Is their some special tax rules I should look into?

Thanks very much.

If it's any help I was in Gibraltar a couple of weeks back and the wi-fi was excellent!

I'm thinking of relocating myself, I just need to find somewhere I really want to be, kinda a pin in the map scenario

Ah, the freedom of trading......

Re: Living and trading in Spain, high speed net out of the city?

I moved to Costa Rica, "the Switzerland of Latin America"

Total lies, no offence mikead, be real careful.

Internet goes out and power goes out every other day for hours.

Iv lost thousands on Internet outages, once $5,000 in a single power outage and $30,000 over a month due to shotty Internet or no power.

Should be called "The Fresno of Latin America"

Plus Costa Rica is way to expensive and the roads, drugs and crimes have gone out of control.

uruguay might be fine, Costa Rica is not unless your super rich and build your own ocean front compound,

They outlawed VOIP and Internet and its on a verge of a social collapse, health care is free but cancer has sky rocketed due to unregulated pesticides, 1/2 of the country is immigrants.

Id say one of the worst decisions of my life.

well, sad story, the moral is i guess that one should be very careful when considering relocation - have to do due diligence and then do it again :-(

i was considering UAE - but i'm afraid it will be too culturally different, gibraltar is OK, but it's small - i want a reasonably big city to live in - 2-3mil people

Hi twelves, Im spanish and I live 30 km from Madrid in a small town , my internet connection at the moment is 1mb while you can get about 3mb by the same price in more populated areas, in the rural part of Spain you could have some problems depending where, but more regarding the speed than the access to internet.
The tax rules have changed this year getting to a 18 pct tax for any financial profits, as a foreigner you will not have any special thing to look at.
good luck

Re: Living and trading in Spain, high speed net out of the city?

I've been told Sitges is the place to be, in Spain, by several people now.

Everything is good, public transport, good internet etc. I have a DJ friend that lives in the town next door. And by DJ friend I mean somebody that plays for crowds 40 000 plus, so he get's around...

Personally, expect to see me around there soon...
