Hi United46

Thank you for responding to my message.

I think what I would do in this particular scenerio is have a swhich take a light nap because I don't no what the hell you're bloody talking about.

This is how much of a greenpea I am. I guess I am just going to have to keep selling cars for the time being until I can get a good mentor somewhere out there in the world.

Someone who can teach me to WAX ON WAX OFF - TRADE ON TRADE OFF.

Mr. Miyagi!! Are you out there!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I am number one salesman on the Western Sea Board. If anyone is interested in a new car let me know. I'll give you an invoice deal.

I think I'll have a turkey swhich on rye with grey poupon mustard organic swiss cheese lettuce organic tomato black olives avacodo.

Then I'll turn on some nice classical music Bach maybe fly off over the distant cliffs of sleep.....

Good luck with your PIPS gentlemen.

Hi Guys/Gals

I followed your posts with interest. I still maintain that there are very few successful forex traders out there (I do not include institutional traders who play this game with mega bucks). Trading stocks T-bonds futures etc. is very different forex - or at least this is how I experience forex trading.

Very few people are prepared to talk about their trading losses very many talk about their occasional wins. The story about let your winning trades run cut your losses early is easier said than done. Also to be consistently profitable takes deep pockets a positive attitude lots of time in front of one's computer screen.

The point I am trying to make is that finding a mentor who is also a successful trader ... well if he/she is so successful why waste time to mentor someone else for a few bucks? Or do we want to believe that such people do exist like to be philantropic about other peoples wealth?

I have been to forex trading courses read all the important books have spent a huge amount of time money effort to reach what I consider an acceptable level of forex trading education - to the extent that I was prepared to go-live on a retail platform. Subsequently I've learnt a couple of good lessons - in most instances it is the forex retailer who wins in this game not the trader who sweat blood tears every day in front of his/her computer screen. Yes I do make some profits but I also make some losses. Come the end of the month my account either shows a small profit or a small loss. So I keep on asking myself: "With stocks futures I have been very profitable why not in forex trading? What am I missing? Is it a MENTOR?" I doubt it very much! Do I have the wrong attitude? I doubt this also very much! Do I have deep pockets - well for things in life that are profitable creates wealth for me on a consistent basis I am prepared to have deep pockets.

So what is my conclusion? It is a money making racket - so called training courses books people calling themselves experts - all of them are on the bwagon to take money novice forex traders. I am also capable of knocking together very good trading examples - after the fact. Very few people are prepared to sit next to you teach you on a live platform step by step the right approach strategies. No what do they all do ... they create examples of so-called profitable trades after the fact. We all know that hindsight is the purest form of science - it struck me that this is in particular true in forex trading.

I make it my business to follow-up on people who I've met at training courses seminars etc. who claim they are forex traders. Give them 6 months 12 months 18 months what do I find? All of them are doing something else but they do not trade forex anymore!

So my question still remains. Find me a forex mentor someone who is consistently profitable do this on a full time basis a home office. NOT a trader who is/has been successful in trading stocks T Bonds or futures. I would very much like to meet such a person if they exist.

You think I am sceptical? Yes I am. But please excuse me for now I've noticed the EUR is rallying against the Dollar let me go try one more time ...!

To all forex traders out there - happy trading enjoy your profits. keep up the good times! I do!

Your thoughts & much of your post is accurate reflective to the point of.... (see pic)

The successfull trader is not only busy but an abberation. They are unique; thinking acting different than the most. They are not for the most part particularly sociable. Their methods are in the minority. All of their trades do not work out they are not inclined to be only as good as their last trade call. Ergo they are not interested in or willing to put up with the guff they receive about their trading 7000 freebie artists who do not want to cannot afford to pay the piper in time sweat $$ to figure out how to play the trading game. Most would-be traders are better off to take their slim wallet big ego over to the Texas Holdem table where they can grovel over one upmanship beating up on each other with bluffs. Others with less desire/need to beat up on their neighbors might try the blackjack table where the task is to just politely outdo one dealer instead of 10 neighbors. However just like in trading the spot one is not going to beat the dealer by playing perfect basic strategy.

Once in awhile some v good traders come around here drop a few golden nuggets. The masses cannot tell them apart limestone. Even agates need a good eye a good polishing machine to find keepers. In gold rush days outside of the rare abberation the people who made money sold the shovels ran the trade (assay) office sold booze to the blowhards. The best place to find gold dust was under the cracks in the floorboards below the bar. It would pay for the whiskey being sold.

Forums are a good place to find out how traders think. It is not a very good place to find the rest of the pieces to the puzzle to successfull trading. You are not going to be hed it on a silver platter. Few are going to succeed they do not succeed by listening to or following the masses.

Free mentors? chump change paid mentors? sheeeh.... Stop looking for a free map or cheap map to the mine. It aint gonna happen.

Mentor wanted? try the sign that says 'miners needed'. Expect to use the shovel pick carry hod. Bring money with carry lots of spare work clothes gloves & boots a years worth of food three years worth of fresh water; your'e gonna need it. In your spare time you can prospect for your own spot to dig. It lies someplace within.

It is free so take it for what ya paid for it underst it is but one small piece of the maps for euro mining. it aint complete.....

Nevertheless there is likely more in this map than one could learn in a year or two on there own.

Gabe Forex777

Ye Van Tharp. I posted it because I read in a mag where he said people at seminars were asked to vote by a show of hs roughly 75% of people chose the wrong 2 answers.

that's probably why most people fail at this.

777 I'd love a new car. Trouble is you guys put the steering wheel on the wrong side!! LOL Sorry for confusing you.

Keep posting GLT

As much as I agree with you Currencia appreciate your metafores I what you imply is true (that you are a successful (?) trader what you stated that a mentor = successful trader will not be on this forum - Where would you look for a mentor?
In one of my previous posts I offered money to a trader that will be able to demonstrate verify his/her success be willing to mentor but no-one showed interest. Perhaps because like you said they are too busy somewhere else.
