Anybody here successfully straddle before the Non-farm payroll data last Friday?

Does you "non-hit" position closed at your specifed price?

I straddle using options. You don't need to worry about your entry as it's already done. All you need to watch is your exit and that can be easily done as things are came after a few moments.

Talking Straddle with Option

Thanks for the reply Jasperforex.

I never thought of option trading. How it is done? I just checked the Refcofx website, they have 5 types of options trading: one spot, no spot, digital, double one spot and double no spo.

What are the advantages of option trading vs trading traditional trading?

It really broaden my mind. Thanks.

I don't use fixed payout options as they are designed to profit the option seller in the long run. I stick to normal options and trade them through IG Index using a system I got from ebay. Its a good way of being involved and also it means my hands are free to try to catch a move manually with normal fx trading.

jasperforex,

I have an account with IG, but can't find currency options. In the Live Prices window I have selected:

Market - CURRENCIES
Group - MINI FOREX
Category - MAJOR FX

I've tried many combinations, but there is nothing about OPTIONS

Could you please tell what to choose in the Market, Group, Category drop-down menus

Thanks in advance

You need to select options for currencies in the first pull down window, but you have to log in first as live prices doesn't have it.

gregh285, yes eod. That's the only risk (no movement) so the only job you need to do is read the news and decide what will move the market. Sometimes whatever the outcome the market will move like for nfp. Also for the other datas is all about expectations.

What is premium of such options? If there is a huge risky news for the market to be volatile, will the premium of the EOD options be very expensive than usual?
