Paper trade Futures?

I started out practicing trading forex with demo-accounts. I am sure everyone knows what I am talking about, cms, fxcm, metatrader. I became profitable after alot of practice and support from resources like this website.
My idea now is that I want to take my trading knowledge of forex and apply it to the futures market etc.. (ym-mini dow, mini sp500, crude futures). I am having trouble finding a ideal demo trading futures account. These demo-accounts we use in forex are great for practicing with "play money". Has anybody made the transistion from forex to futures.
What type of platforms are out there to practice futures on?
I noticed most accounts want alot of paperwork etc. to join(pristine, realtick, tradestation, equis). Any comments from traders that have been down this path would be appreciated. Thanks.

Did you look at Interactive Broker? They have a demo account and they support all sorts of market. I do trade live with them and they're really good. I haven't tried the demo there, but maybe you can give it a shot?

Re: Paper trade Futures?

I traded forex at CMC for two years and still have an account there but found that I did better trading forex futures as well as YM and ES. I know we are not supposed to advise others as to where we trade if they dont advertise on Moneytec, So I will just say that I trade at Trademaven group and they do have a nice demo. It is much easier to scalp forex through futures as you can buy at the bid and sell at the offer. Also you only pay about half a pip total commisions per round turn instead of the marketmakers spread which I personal felt got in the way on my trading style.

IB have finally sorted their paper trading demo TWS. Good to practise and refine technique. Use it with autotrader and free charts from jerry Q-charts and you'll be set. You can open an IB futures trading account with $4000? For more info see the IB thread on T2W.

Yes. Windsor Direct. I'm currently demoing with them. Looks good but the commissions are a bit steep. A benefit is that you can trade forex, futures and commodities all in one account.
