Peace Corps EA - Please Advise

Hello all,

I am going through a weird time in my life. I'm not satisfied with the directions I am being presented. To me, life is more than just the United States and your part in its success. One simple story that I tend to think about often is that of a gang member in a large city. His gang fought day after day for several large city blocks. I forget why, perhaps he won a contest, but one day he flew out of the cities airport. Immediately he was struck by how small his city blocks began to become. The realization that his brothers in arms were dying over such a small area began to take affect and he later quit the gang.

I'm not sure if the story is true, but the principle lesson is still there. The world is much bigger than any of us. I want to be a successful business man thinking globally. I want to use corporate social responsibilty to directly help people in the US and worldwide. Unfortunately, I am not in a position to own a corporation to do so. That is why I am beginning to seriously consider going into the Peace Corps. It's an immediate way to go out and experience the world and its people while helping them in a big way.

One of my concerns however is life after the peace corps. They do offer a $6000 bonus at the end to help you get back into our life. I am worried that won't be enough and I'll still be stuck where I am now; in a place where I don't know if what I'm given as opportunities are where I want to be. Financial burdens weigh heavily on the illguided. What would you do if you didn't have any responsibility to anyone but yourself?

Obviously, one financial avenue I am considering if I enter the peace corps is a Forex EA. My questions relate to the plausability of setting up an EA where I'll come back in 27 months and my account has grown healthily. Could even the most conservative system with an excellent money management strategy survive for 27 months? Has anyone heard of anyone else doing this?

I'd love to hear suggestions as to how to accomplish this. Also, if you have peace corps experience I'd like to hear your thoughts on your time as well.

I need advice on what a conservative EA strategy would be. Also, I am on GFT and don't have access to EA's. GFT will introduce EA capabilities within the year, but they are not server based. I need something that could run for 27 months without the need for friends or relatives running it for me. What are my best options for service? Which is a server based EA that doesn't need my computer to be on 24/7? Things like this need to be thought of before hand.

Look forward to any and all responses. Thanks. Matt

Hi Matt

Sorry, I can't be of any help as far as the Peace Corps goes but it sounds like an admirable and selfless thing to do!

Regards automated trading you may want to have a look at the System Execution Desk operated by FXCM www.fxcm.com/system-trading.jsp

As I understand it the system is server based and monitored 24/7, they also provide help with getting your strategy programmed or put you in touch with a programmer to write it for you.

If you don't have a strategy in mind that might be suitable for automation you may want to have a look around the strategy builder website or the Yahoo Metâtrader EA forum for ideas.

Good luck with both.
