Thats a great question and it's amazing how varied each trader can be.
I am a discretionary trader. (Don't use mechanical programs)
Some days when I trade I hold positions for only a few hours. Other days I keep a position for several days. I think over all Im a scalper holding positions less than 24 hrs.
According to the above I am a swing trader AND a position trader.
I find it very difficult to be as profitable on shorter time frames.
Could I ask anyone to vote on the poll "T/A: Predictive or not?", on this site, as it is another way of classifying traders, which in my opinion is even more fundamental.

I am a discretionary trader with mechanical stops as I like to make decision on my own. I place about 2-3 trades a day with open position varies from few minutes up to 2-3 days.
