I think that's a different poll, Trevman!

Funny, though

Re: ( POLL ) What type of trader are you

I am always in the market trader, I use different type of strategies, usually I start with 2.5% as a position size, at 20:1 leverage, I adds units if its required, I take into consideration to go with positive interest rate; I mainly trade AUD/JPY, also EUR/USD sometimes. When the trend is down, and I have to be short in AUD/JPY (I pay interest rate); in this case my trade is a kind of scalping, I don’t wait much, I targeted 4-15 pips, but when the trend is up; I might stay for days; some times even weeks (Swing- Position Trader).
I am now also considering to adopt buy and hold Trader strategy.

Re: ( POLL ) What type of trader are you

Im an AUTO-TRADER!!!

Finally developed an autotrading system.
The system uses the following components.

1/ Amibroker - Multiple timeframe strategies are coded into this.
2/ FXAsia live account feeding data into Amibroker via DDE
3/ Amibroker signals are passed to a custom VB6 program via WinXP clipboard!
4/ VB6 program passes orders to HyperOrder
5/ HyperOrder passes orders to Metatrader for execution

Sounds complicated but it works!

I run a combination of stragegies. Both trend and daytrade.

Update 2/June/2005 - Well HyperOrder has fallen apart. It keeps
freezing up and trades are not closed.

I've had much more success with Metatrader. I still have multiple timeframe
strategies tested in AmiBroker, then forward tested in Metatrader.
At the moment this is the only way forward that I can see.
