I'm all of the above....my prefered way of trading is off 3 hr (swing) 1 day or longer (position) in the absence of the proper set ups with those I go to day (1hr) momentum (10min) always keeping in mind the fractals I am working with......

I'm probably more of a swing trader although I enter into other trades as well. I'm not sure if I fit into one specific category.

Well a good trader imho tries to be all the types that you mentioned in your poll at any given time depending on how he has assessed the markets their associated risks/their trends etc for the foreseeable future. I turned professional nearly 8 years ago have been trading CFDs only during this time - I've recently started the following blog:

Are all of the trading styles radically different? Isn't it still all about just buying low selling high?

Most of our traders certainly myself family engage in several strategies. "opening only's" on the NYSE to MOC's imbalance trading. We do "scalp" but don't "just scalp" - we do "swing trade" we do ps mergers black box gray box short term longer term even portfolio management.

Our traders have access to using a couple of $million so they can engage in a lot of successful techniques each tries to adapt their trading styles to their personalities but no limit themselves.
