Smile Is it possible to trade on an FX platform with your own account?

Hi guys,

Say I was a trader who dealt in stocks and wanted start trading FX aswell. I would usually open a new FX account with a broker and deposit some funds in there and watch my margins etc.

BUT I would also have to watch my margins with my other stock trading account as well. So I would have 2 margins to watch and would have to constantly transfer money between two accounts to prevent getting a margin call on either. Transfering money, however, can take time so although I may have funds available in my stock account (if I got an FX margin call), I wouldn't be able to transfer the money over to my FX account in time to avoid all my positions being closed due to the margin call.

My question is that are there any brokers who let you trade on their platform with your own 'seperate' account, in order to avoid this situation from arising?

Sorry if I've been unclear in what I'm asking so I try to explain in more detail if you want

cheers

I believe that Schwab allows that, but you would have to check with them.
