Would someone with more Metatrader expert advisor skill then me (not hard ) be able to put together a code for an audible alert to sound when the ASC trend dots appear on the chart?

Why don't you ask the question regarding the alert in MetaTrader in the forum that is headed MetaTrader Development Center?

there is an aleret with sound but it locks up my computer sometimes it is called asctrendsig and the one with no sound its called asctrend-no-sig, i will post if anyone wants

Mark3, thanks for a great looking system. I too played around with perky_z's indicators but didnt manage to develop my ideas into a reliable system as you appear to have done. A couple of dumb questions;

1. re the 30 pip trigger; is this 30 pips from the point of the cross of the two 5EMAs. I presume it is !

2. How many candles do you wait after the ASCTrend signal? Obviously the next candle is ldeal but would you still open a trade if it took say 5 candles to get to the 30 pip trigger? (As happened this afternoon.)

PS I can confirm that ASCTrend WITH sound locks up metatrader periodically :-(

Hey Mark. I was wondering if you are still watching this post at all. If so, I was wondering if you could answer 2 questions for me...okay, I just thought of another one...so, 3 questions.

1) How do you set up/use the T3 filter? I'm getting conflicting advice on this and was hoping for the real answer.

2) What is your exit strategy? Do you just trail w/ a stop and let it stop out eventually?

3) What do you use the Scaff Trend for? I see you add it to your chart, but you don't mention using it at all.

Thanks a lot Mark. I look forward to your response (if you're still around). I've been using this strategy (minus the T3) with some success, but I'd like to learn these last 3 things so that I can be fully on track.
