In the past when I was straddling the news the best ones I found were:

US Trade Balance
US GDP
US Chicago NAPM
US Consumer Confidence
US Retail sales (sometimes)
US Consumer Price Index
US Industrial Production
US Durable Goods

This isn't a full list, but these are the ones that tend to give the nicest moves especially if the numbers are out of whack with the consensus.

Obviously they don't always move, and they don't always only move one way, you need to have a feel for the macro picture of what the economy is doing and what people are finding important at the moment.

I tend to look at the daily Bank reports on news days, especially mellon which I find very accurate.

Forget about things like construction spending, housing starts, home sales.
personal income, weelky initial jobless, factory orders, chain store sales, and all the other smaller releases, they just do not have the power to move the markets as a general rule.

I am concentrating on trading (demo only) one pair at a time now.

And thanks for the calender link. It is the best I have seen so far. I have bookmarked it.

Matsu

Hello I m sorry Matsu do not hesitate to see many pairs because:
1. It helps you understand misleading movements (almost all time all currencies must do the same things against dollars, but they do not do them always)
2. One pair is not profitable today, but other can really be

I agree, Zenseven

I do watch EUR, GBP and CHF at the same time.

I do (demo) trade all three, but I always hold only one position at any one time at the moment.

I notice that sometimes when 2 of the above pairs have moved but the third has not, it could be a good opportunity to enter a trade in the third pair, if I missed entering when the other two started to move.

Regards,

Matsu

Mark

Thanks for sharing your strategy with us!

I have spent a good part of the evening reading 4xTraderCy's and Perky_z's threads to get a better understanding for your strategy.

I have all of the indicators loaded on my chart and the image that I get does not match your screenshot from Nov16/17. The ASCTrend dots are occurring at different times. Are your settings for the perky thread indicatos the defaults or did you change them? If they were changed, what are the setting you use for the 30 minute charts?

Is it possible for you to post a more recent screenshot?

Thanks for all your help!!!
