Perhaps...

Perhaps they do not have such power to influence the overall market, but maybe they do have such power to influence their clients' positions.

slippage, best dealers, etc.

There is no best dealer. Every one of them is going to have some type of problem at some point in your career as a fx trader. The best thing to do is find a platform you like, make sure you feel like you get your questions answered by cust service reps, and try to work with one that comes at least somewhat recommended.

That said, they're still going to give you fits sometimes. There are a lot of good threads in here about some brokers to avoid ... but you've got to do what makes you feel most comfortable.

Most of my losses -- well, probably all of them -- at the beginning of my career were due to the fact that I was a really bad trader, not because my broker stopped me out or ripped me off. You might find that to be the case too. It's always tough at the start.
