It didn't want to be strengthened nor did it by people intentionally buying it, at least below 1.3000.

This whole thing had nothing to do with the euro it was strictly a dollar thing.

That is what makes me think that euro longs got killed.

Why else would the move stop? Greed never has enough. IF there were many euro bulls from the 1.2100s or even the 1.2600s they'd have NEVER taken profit: That would have given massive impetus for the market to keep on going.

I think that move died due to the attrition of the movers (those who thought they'd get rich quick by finally jumping in and buying euro), not because people cashed in on the pot of gold in the sky.

I've seen moves end then reverse. This was different. It died.

If there were any beneficiaries it was lucky speculators who sold USD based on the presumption that the market might weaken it due to the deficit numbers.

Now with the prospect of the Fed raising rates to infinity, that's all changed.

Well that's your view, as a fundamental player, and just like technical analysis is irrelevant to you the same applies, it's all irrelevant to me to be honest, I'm strictly a technical analyst....unless it's NFP day and then I'm staying well clear!

I think we've taken this thread way off-topic........

Or that dead elephant (Do elephants eat peanuts?)

I wasn't for a minute trying to put down your analysis, I'm sure it's just as valid and well thought out as any other, if not better, so no offence meant. I've never followed fundamentals, to be honest I don't understand most of it!

No offense taken, Mick.

Yeah, fundamentals can be a mercurial pursuit.

Or, as an ancient Japanese proverb puts it, A rabbit dies quickest when choking on a mouthful of straw.

I never understood that one.

Thumbs up

Loved the article Joe

Just wished the thread could have stayed on topic (i.e. the fallacies of trading)

I seem to recall a post where Mick declared that technical
indicators don't matter at all, and that trading was about
nothing but money management.

I think he only recently discovered Fibs, and is now trying play
pied piper, passing himself off as a "technical analyst".
