Sideways

Hello everybody,

I would like to know what instruments/strategies/methods you use to anticipate sideways trend. I have been trapped into sideways several times. The problem that I only recognize it after I place my trade.

Fundamental announcements are what move the market the majority of the time,See what time they are due and an hour or 2 before they come out are good places to start looking for trades,don`t trade over lunch times,and within the last hour of the trading day,wednesday is traditionally a slow day and friday mornings can also be problematic,from3 am est to 8 am est,the rest comes with experience
