Trading with a Bank

With all the concerns being raised about the stability of forex brokers, i've decide to find te most stable/regulated establishemnt where I could trade from. I came across a bank that supposedly allows individual traders to trade currencies. In my opinion thrading through a bank is a lot safer than a broker. Is that a valid assumption? Please elaborate either way.

Second, are you guys aware of where I can find a list of banks that allow for individual traders to trade the forex market?

Thanks!

Re: Trading with a Bank

What bank are you referring to?
Just because you are dealing directly with a bank does not mean that you are going to be any more successful. The only advantages of trading directly with a bank is getting a tight spread and even then you should be having a big bank roll. Also, the spread is variable and you get what is the best quote at that time. Dont rely on a tight spread at news times.
Just some things to chew over. If however you are looking for a good broker, this forum has enough info. If you would want to discuss more, pm me.
The stability of funds with a bank is a myth, IMO. Banks can go down under too. There are guys who trade with traditional brokers for 15 years or more and new ones coming up all the time.
If you have a big account to trade, you can negotiate a tight spread even with traditional brokers. There are traders who are successful trading 5pips on major currencies and trading with dealing desk brokers.
Drop me a pm, if you want to discuss brokers.

Re: Trading with a Bank

Give me a bank any day over the other sites, even the best-known and most reputable. Banks must answer to government regulators and oversight. Try saxobank dot com and dbfx dot com. As always in this industry, caveat emptor.

It is good if you have a minimum $10,000 deposit. Can you recommend a brokerage for less?

They are basically another FXCM, check out their address, platform, registration form's URL and reviews before you put any money into it.
