What is the matter with USD/CAD?

It is moving erratically like a car with a broken tie rod or with a drunk driver behind the wheel.
Appears to be pure manipulation to me.

You know the weird explanations they (thompsons.com) give make me laugh. They say if dollar gets weaker against the Euro, looney will gain because of the buck's weakness (fair enough) but at the the same time they say looney will also gain (against the buck) if Euro falls further because of EUR/CAD cross selling (come on, gimme a break). Why don't they simply say CAD has its own strength and is in a win win situation, which I doubt very much anyway.

Habib which USD/CAD move are you talking about for good USD/CAD tech analysis read Should I Buy Or Should I Sell. Or are you talking about recent upward move from 1.2456?

I was talking about its erratic to and fro moves between 1.2416 and 1.2503 today somewhat out of synch with the other pairs.

What I think is, as you may know, Cad is commodity currency and in a strong

position. now, the entire market is dollar bullish. but, unlike euro or gbp, when it

comes to usd/cad, traders are much confused,which currency is stronger than

the other. the more confusion, the more erratic movements .

I did look at the link you provided, but it talks about all currencies (against Indian Rupee, perhaps) except CAD.

Yes, I agree with your observation to a certain extent. however, I believe being low volume it (USD/CAD) is more prone to manipulation.
