Average ROI more than 10% per month. But I think it's so small....

Hiya tim_nn,

No, I don't recall that quote in "Fooled by Randomness". I picked it up from one of the other published materials on Taleb's web site.

Glad you appreciate it

achilles28,

Got it. Sorry if I missed on the jocularity and levity. I was genuinely trying to contribute/help. I probably take my trading too seriously , but, hey, it's my living.

Enjoy,

No, I appreciate your anaylitical approach to the question. I originally intended for everyone to state their risk tolerance per trade or breifly describe money management employed but felt this would be too invasive and elicit less responses.

Different paths to the same place.

How long have you been trading for?

Re: What Percent Return Can A Successful Forex Trader Expect to Average, Per Year?

Heya achilles28

Lets see.... Umm... My first "trade" was in the early seventies (gulp).

Had some huge (really! 6 figures+) losses in 87.

Started really "trading" seriously about 5 years ago. Trading forex exclusively for the last two years.

Does this help?!

I agree that there are many paths to the same place. I used to say that all roads lead to Rome... via Brussels (my city of birth ). There are more than one way to skin a cat too (whether dead and bouncing or not, immaterial).

Enjoy and happy trading

It really depends on the type of system that you use.

ie. number of trades, win/loss, profit/risk... so it's different for every trader.
