Re: selfmade

I think TTM squeeze is good too. It is self-made one.

Re: ( POLL ) Which indicators?

I didn't vote because I feel that any, all, or none of those listed might be used depending on the situation. I often use news as part of my strategy and there are times when no indicator (that I'm aware of) will signal the correct play.

If I was forced to pick one indicator above all others, it would be price action. because for me that is almost always the basis for entry and exit.

For me,

the best way is the BREAKOUT and better more is the false breakout.

This poll is great idea.
I'd like to choose more choices.

Re: ( POLL ) Which indicators?

What about O A N D A 's sentiment?

Nobody uses it as an indicator?

Re: ( POLL ) Which indicators?

Considering the number of indicators out there today, the poll is kind of lacking. I use them primarily as a tool, but will only enter if price action confirms it ...

Moneytec,

could....would....you do this same poll but phrase it "for those successfully trading, which are your predominate TAs". You see, a majority on favorite.....well, less than 5% successful, therefore poll on 95% who are not successful...... what good is that?

THx!

Re: ( POLL ) Which indicators?

Been studying elliotwave for the past couple months using 1hr and higher and it works pretty good. The only problem is after wave 5 reading the ABC correction. It doesnt give exact entry points but it keeps you with the trend and not to buy tops.

By that logic this hole forum is useless cause 95% of the people here are losers right?

First of all you don't know that 95% of traders lose. There's no valid stats for that claims.

Second even u did there's no point in stating on open forum that 95% of us are losers. Maybe what u'r really trying to say is -I lose but so what 95% of traders lose.

Third and most important keep things positive -If you lose today know that there's always tomorrow to do better. If you want smth it's just a matter of reaching out and get it. It's that easy. But do u want it in the first place?

I don't know if 95% of traders are losers, but I know that 100% of the greatest traders have lost - some small, some big, many even blow out several times over. That didn't stop them...

Oh and I use mainly woodies cci.

Sorry, but there HAS been various polls taken and ....where ya been if you don't come by them on occasion?

Confronting the reality of the situation, that the smaller % take from the losing larger % .....well, generally in life confronting makes for happiness, unless you like living in a false hope cloud? Why is it so hard for most to really get somewhere in their fx hopes? The complexity (the game of tug-'n-pull of pips) and the reality and the %'s answer that. Yes, even for me who chooses to "try for now" on fancy NN or LGP machines, if I lose for now, fine, keep looking, "chin-up" (you are right in this sense), and keep pluggin'. My LGP's are doing MUCH better than my NNs were during last year of late, and even if they poop-out I try JurikRes.com TAs to assist the LPG's, failing that, well, I even have found one EURUSD-morning-breakout code for trading in vtsystems that is one great gem-find, 100-pips per month for 4 months so far, so if one keeps looking & looking, why "stuff" CAN fall into place, so yes, don't give-up, but at same time, confront the enormity of the task. Saw one Pro like guy saying what it takes with BunnyGirl plan on that thread. It's what most don't want to hear, you have to slowly but surely pull yourself up by the bootstraps.

guess I emphasized what you say here, well said! But WHAT you are to reach up thru TO if confronted on the way, is happiness on the way. Just like you won't become a half-way decent marathon runner over-nite
(let alone run that far for quite awhile!)

one can only believe the polls, true, but how else you going to find SOME approximation of said stats?

so how is it going with that, you trade successfuly with this strategy?
[quote=fxkingg]
In short, if I sent you in a time machine to the depression of the 30's to find-out how folks continue to have a successful biz (ongoing despite the times), would you survey the many wrecked on the streets too? Be silly survey to them, they'd look at you mean and walk away. Well, same thing here, the larger % are still walking around not in the ongoing success range, does it make sense to survey them "what is your successful TA"? Nothing "WRONG" in surveying TAs as some silly fun in meantime. (and granted its a survey problem getting to the successful ones only, maybe someone should post a survey Ad in that fancy "Trader Monthly", LOL, :-) Maybe they've done something like this already as they often have interviews with successful Pros.
Truly,
Jerry B.

Your way off base, on this 95/5% theory

Show me factual data that proves these 95 loosers 5 winners theoretical statistics are fact, that’s right, neither you nor anyone can!!! It’s all hot air placed out their by the systems and service marketers to convince you can be within the 5% if you buy some stupid product!! And embraced by and completely logical to a unsuccessful trader “if I am not making it, no one else could be”

Re: ( POLL ) Which indicators?

How about COT? Its the only indicator Ive got access to which tells me where the big players are looking. It would be better if all of us had access to Deutsche Bank, UBS and Citigroups trade accounts on a nice big screen but.....

Re: ( POLL ) Which indicators?

Candles, candle patterns, some moving averages (for humility sake), and finally multi-cci lines. Works mucho well.
