Swing Journal

Hi all....just wanted a place to start my trading journal. I almost blew a small account. Opened the account at $347.02. It dipped to as low as $36 I believe.

I fell into the trap of thinking I had a lot of equity to play with. And as always, when you get into that line of thinking, you think you can do anything and experiment anyway you like. Well, I got caught in over sized trading and before I knew it, my original capital dwindled to the amount above. I started to think about my strategy and tweaked it a little. I also decided to reduce my position size to .01 lots. The smallest possible on my micro account. I'm glad I did. I am learning better how the market moves and feel more comfortable and confident in the trades I am placing despite the small account size.

I began documenting my trades around $42.65 a few weeks ago. The account reached as high as $61 and some change. Today, its sitting at around $50.19 in open equity and about $55.19 in balance.

I have 13 positions currently opened. Some in profit, some not...with an open negative equity of around $50.09 as of this writing.

Anyway, I will tag my official starting recovery dollar amount at:

$42.65 as of 12-04-2009.

I would like to set a target to recover the full amount of $347.02 as my first step. I do not have a time frame nor a daily target of what I expect to make. Just sticking with my plan of .01 lots and documenting things as I go....

One more thing, I will be posting all trade journal screen shots in PIPS and not in actual $ amount. This is for 2 seperate reasons.

1st reason - The amount is so insignificant right now, I do not want to base my decisions on $$$ amount, but instead on pip size and what I see on the charts.

2nd reason - By following the first reason, if and when the account does grow to something substantial, it will not affect me as much psychologically with the larger profit/loss results....

Current Positions

Here are my most current positions.....I was going to hand type the lot but there are 13 positions and would be too much for me to type. Instead, I have enclosed a screenshot...
