According to Fischer, any 3 or 5 structure Elliot wave MUST be containable in a phi Ellipse. So By drawing a phi elipse to contain 2 sides of a wave, U can tell were the wave will end.
A phi-elipse is an elipse whose axis a:b have a phi ratio, when divided.
On the site Fischer has a charting package that auto-draws phi-elipses & phi-sphirals for you. It has a Free use version that runs on historical data.
Else U would need to print the charts and draw them yourself, as the scale must be kept fixed.
Fisher also has 2 books, the 2nd one :- Advanced Fibonnaci Strategies For Traders (available at Whileys), is a must read for anyone seriously relying on Fib Trading. Its also in the study currcuim for CMT & CFT students. And actually has its own test exercise book.
I can post U the link to purchase it - if yr interested, & its not already available on his site.
Take Care.

Thank you very much for your reply Summerset...
Yes, would love to see those links.
Thanks in advance

Re: Sell Eur/Usd
I believe Cowan did a lot of work with ellipses as well.
fwiw,
I have to add, as Summerset stated that the scaling issue is key.

Re: Sell Eur/Usd
Cowan and Michael Jenkins. Cowans contribution is the concept of Price and Time vectors. Much of this is quite esoteric, though so is Iris`s thread....
Also see this blog which doesnt appear to be active no more. htt tp://www.4xcycletrader.com/
While there sure are geometrical patterns and some adhere to elliptical patterns, the hardest thing is to predict the direction/slope of the new ellipse. As for my ellipses - I dont trade them yet but keep watching and learning. The equiliateral triangle is key and ellipse of 1:2 ratio corresponds to this.
cheers

Jenkins' stuff is much more usable on the surface than Cowan's imho, Cowan's takes some study. On any vector points a to b the triangle formed is subject to scale, as bars (time) x price changes depending on the time frame being used. (there are several studies from different authors on this subject for the perfect chartiing time, but the object is to square the chart for percise time/price calculating.
Imho, there's a lot of weight that needs to be given on the hypotenuse of the triangle... which is equal to a 1:1 arc intersecting the horizontal level of point A. Square the chart and that measure ( in a fib ratio? ) should hold some key to any time spiral projected.
fwiw,
b

Re: Sell Eur/Usd
Bear,,
It seems like you have been researching in that subject... But I never saw you applying any ellipse tool into the chart.
Which brings up a question ... Does it work? Do you know anyone who has used it successfully making constant profits?

Re: Sell Eur/Usd
JR97 from the other group used phi ellipses a lot, but Im yet to see ellipses making any difference in trading.
Why make in so complicated anyway? There are some other fellas that say that market is a 3-dimensional structure. Ok, I can see price, time, what's the 3rd dimension anyway? lol
