Despite recently being awarded the title number 2 economy in the world China is growing restless, disputing its territorial borders and, recently China has seen fit to add political posturing against Japan to its repertoire. A Chinese fishing boat captain was arrested by the Japanese for colliding with one of their coast guard vessels in disputed sea-territory.
The Chinese have demanded his release and the Japanese have openly refused. The US and several Asian countries have allied them selves with Japan in this matter against China. My prediction...JPY, USD, and several Asian currencies will take a hit if this goes much farther.

China/Japan Conflict
Even if the chinese become the second largest economy in the world, it does not make them bullies. The japanese are still a powerful people and if a war will break out, both sides will lose and it will particularly affect the chinese onward march to becoming the number one economy in the world.

The main reason why chainees economy is growing fast is corruption is very less in China, so they are moving very fast in all sectors. No doubt if this rally continue then they may beat USA in economy condition but when war comes then we are not sure whether china able to win it or not.

There is less corruption in china, that is actually true. But their economy is also growing rapidly because they have the cheapest labour in the whole world. This made them every investors choice out of every country in the world today.

October 6th, 2011 05:57 PM #6 China is growing its exports, technologies and electrical devices without any break.China has occupied the major markets of the world by the lowest prices of their goods. That is why, the USA has passed the bill to increase the duties on the Chinese imports so that, their prices are up in USA, and let the people to not purchase them. The greatest example of China growing is snatching the NO.2 position from the Japan in this year..

October 17th, 2011 06:05 PM #7 It will be very difficult for the chinese people to become the leading world power in the world. This would have to take many many years. The european powers and the west all back each other and they can veto anything that the chinese people might come up with.
