I've not read the whole thread because what I know about writing software you could write on the back of a stamp, so someone may have already mentioned Fabrefactum.

Andrew at Fabrefactum worked hard to get his trading robot to 'interact' (is that the right word?) with quite a few broker's platforms including FXCM who were involved in some way with the development and intergration of his software. I believe his wife recently had a baby so he's not so active lately, but he's a very helpful and knowledgeable guy and I'm sure if you drop him an email he'll share his knowledge.

His website was Fabrefactum

Not that I believe in automated trading you understand!

I had looked at Fabrefactum before posting to this thread. Andrew's software looked like it had a lot of potential and I was considering purchasing some of it, but I emailed Andrew on 3 or 4 separate occasions and I didn't receive a reply from him on any of them. Because of this, I decided against using anything from Fabrefactum.. another dead end.

Has anyone had better success with Fabrefactum or any of its software?

I was surprised to hear you had no response, I know he was moving home, so with that and the baby maybe his time was limited.

It may seem too obvious, but have you been in touch with FXCM's IT department?

Failing that I have no more ideas.

Mick

the guy who make this software isn't gonna help because I've asked him to exemplify through simple code how can an order it's placed ... no answer of course, I guess this guy makes his living by offering paid consultance ...

Anyway ... there is another app., this time free, HyperTrader, but neither this works properly, nobody knows what parameters should be set.

For myself, I'm using a combination of those two, plus API calls though FXTS ... some for getting quotes, some for placing orders, some for monitoring account ...

... I know what your going to say ... HOW? well, that's my secret, I will help you by telling you some pointers:
- you don't have to use DynaHost or HyperTrader API calls thorugh the host application
- FXTS doesn't have public API documentation (because you have to pay for it) but there are tools over the net wich you can use to figure out those calls
- some of those applications DLL's are actually ActiveX DLL, with events, classes and everything ...
... and I should tell you that it took me a copple of months to get to the end of it, I mean finding out all the required procedures, calls, events, and so on ... and I still have a few errors here and there ... btw, anybody knows why i'm getting with no particular reason "exception error .... memory could not be 'read' " on W2kProSP4 up to date and VB6SP6?

Why is this a secret? This is a public site, it's some kind of a center of all FX traders, even a center for those that create software for traders, if they would know that I'm using this automated FX trading at full potential, I really don't know that they will do, seems pretty paranoid but I have discovered that there are some parts left intentionally out, almost as they don't want you to use the full potential of this. So, returning to the subject, I would rather be considered as a "bragger" (is this the right word?) then taken seriously on this subject so I can continue doing my stuff undisturbed ... but this is only my humble opinion ... don't mind me

I'm not trading live through an automated trading software, only did a copple of tests on a demo account in my eary beta version on my automated trading software, now I'm redesingning it and will be for my personal use, so I can't give you any more details about this ... anybody knows than when you are on the market, you are on your own with no mommy, wife or friends to help you out
Problem why I could not make entry order in dynaorder is becase I give them wrong parameters. I should +/- 0.0005 for current price in buy/sell.
Ok. I can understand the reason why u keep this secreet.

But thanks... anyway...

Did you write the EW code yourself, or did you put a couple packages together to accomplish this?

Offcourse I'm not write the EW code my self. I have reads the theory but seem difficult to implement. It's to difficult for me.
MarketScope is an FXTS plugins and already providing EW indicators.

By reading the EW Trend indicators, it could guide us when the lowest price for buy (-1) when the highest price for sell (1) and when we must close the openned position to take profit (0).

Re: Fxcm Api?

Hmmm . . . you can see a lot of FXCM library stuff via MS Access

Procedure
Edit a module choose References
Select
CWCore 1.0 Type Library &
CWTd 1.0 Type Library

Next step is to work out how to use it !

Python programmed FxtsAPI (FXCM's FX Trading Station API), runs under both: Windows and Unix.
Web pages are 'under construction' but API, documentation and example can be downloaded ... http://www.apitraderfx.com
