Sorry, but no. The output of this program is just a plain TEXT file.

Hi Altec35, I recently bought Omnitrader 2004 for charting Forex only to find that it was not designed to interface with my Forex brokers’ free data feed supplied in Windows DDE format. Is there any chance that you could have a look at my problem and see if there was anything that you can suggest in order to get me up and running with Omnitrader?

I am not interested in paying US$150/ month for eSignal data etc.

    Altec35,

    I have 2 inquiries:
    – Do you know the source for fx volume included in .csv files ?
    – How reliable are that rates ?

    Regards,
    Hani

Altec 35, thanks for this information. Omnitrader 2004 version is able to read these formats
    Metastock, CSI, TC2000 & AIQ

Does the program you designed assist with any of these formats?

    4XtraderCY,

I faced a problem trying to convert data downloaded on Metastock downloader.
At Excel file: all data are filled in one column so MS downloader new sheet doesn’t accept pasting the data in.

    What do you suggest?

    TIA
    Hani

    Hi,
Since the beginning of the year (2005) I’m experiencing a problem when using the forexcsv data-download program i.e. everytime I use it I get the following message:

ForexCSV Data Downloader Application has encountered a problem and has to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Qs: 1/ Has anyone experienced this recently? ( I’m trying to download 2005 data), running Win XP Professional
2/ any advise on how to resolve this?

Thank You and all the best for 2005, Jacques

Yes, I’ve been having the same problem. In looking into the issue, it appears to be coming from the source (Dukascopy). It looks like they now require a username and password for the datafeed. I’m guessing the ForexCSV app can’t negotiate this. Does anyone know if the ForexCSV author can be contacted? Even if we could just get the source code, I’m sure there are programmers out there who could easily make the necessary modifications.

When looking at the Dukascopy forum it appears that they block IP addresses (presumably because they think that their data is being used for commercial purposes or similar). Dukascopy have their own version of the datadownloader at http://freeserv.dukascopy.com/exp/?popup=1 however unfortunately the data only seems to go back to 24th October 2004.

I suspect that if a users downloads excessively their IP may be blocked as well.

True, Dukascopy will block your IP if you make predictable queries. I was using the hourly data for trade calculations and they noticed I would query once an hour. They assumed I was a data-collecting bot and blocked me. I contacted kir on the forum and he was able to get me cleared.

    Now, I use their web-based tool: dukascopy.com/english/cquotes/CSV/

I use daily data mostly, and I can get that into 2003.

    Hope this helps!
